This position is responsible for the operation of council’s Heavy Plant fleet,  including (Grader, heavy combination truck, excavator, backhoe), along with the operation of Councils medium plant fleet items (Skidsteer, Water Truck, Roller, Front-end Loader, Tractor/Slasher etc). The role will also include a range of labouring tasks associated with the construction and maintenance of councils infrastructure, in a safe, effective and efficient manner.  You will also supervise a small team. About youYou will be a positive team player, with a focus on efficiency, safety and pride in your work.  You will demonstrate the following skills and experience. EssentialCurrent Class MR drivers’ licenceWH&S General Induction Training for construction sitesDemonstrated extensive experience in 2 or more of the following plant items (Grader, HC truck, Excavator, Backhoe)Demonstrated extensive experience in road construction and road maintenance Demonstrated ability to inspect and maintain plant and equipment to maximise operationsExcellent supervision skills, with ability to supervise, train and communicate positively with your teamAbility to work under pressure, working to deadlines Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other construction teams and management Proven ability to resolve problems at the worksite levelLiteracy/numeracy and computer skills (including emails) to complete relevant job documentation and reportsDesiredCert III in Civil Construction and maintenance (or equivalent)Traffic Controllers certificate (blue/yellow) or NSW equivalentExperience in the use of GPS/UTS machine control systemsExperience in the reading, interpretation and execution of design plansSalary$54,669 - $63,141 (dependant upon skills and experience) + 10% super.
