About usThe guiding principles of respect, professionalism, integrity, teamwork, communication, and service commitment define how Bellingen Shire Council strengthens its working environment to deliver on the aspirations of our community.  Bellingen Shire Council is committed to building resilience in its Vision 2027 document, it is our upmost importance to deliver community resilience to the local community.About the roleThis role is responsible for managing the delivery of a range of projects in the program.  These projects aim to develop community focused approaches to recovery and resilience.  This role will build relationships and engage closely with the Shire’s community members to foster collaborations, partnerships and solutions to bring changes in shire-wide resilienceAbout youEssential requirementsTertiary qualifications in Emergency Management, Community development and/or significant demonstrated experience in a similar role.Demonstrated skills/experience in the utilisation of a range of engagement/ collaboration toolkits.High level understanding of emergency management, especially in preparedness, recovery and resilience.Demonstrated understanding of community development strategies.Demonstrated experience working in a team where collaboration, negotiation and communication skills are essential.Ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels, promote harmony and consensus and build effective partnerships across business areas, functions, community groups and organisations.Ability to analyse issues from different perspectives, to draw sound inferences from information available and to propose workable solutions.Highly developed oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.Basic project management skills.Capacity to work independently and as a team member in a demanding,  and at times unpredictable environment, together with excellent organisational and time management skills.Ability to be flexible, as some community engagements will need to be done during evenings/weekends.SalaryThis is a part-time (28 hour per week), 18 month fixed term role. Hourly rate $40.61 - $46.30 per hour (dependant upon skills and experience) + 10% super.
